With an extensive and accomplished medical career spanning over three decades, Dr. Dimitrios Hatzivlassiou is a highly experienced Board-Certified Psychiatrist, bringing a global perspective and deep clinical expertise to patient care. He completed his medical education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and pursued advanced postgraduate studies in anthropology at the University of Brussels, followed by a PhD in Clinical Sexology from Maimonides University of Miami.
His clinical training includes broad-based experience across multiple specialties and international healthcare systems. He began his medical practice as a General Practitioner in Greece, followed by specialized training in Neurology at AHEPA Hospital and Psychiatry at the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki. He continued his psychiatry residency training in the United States, completing his PGY-1 year at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and his PGY-2 through PGY-4 training at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Following residency, Dr. Dimitrios Hatzivlassiou served as a Staff Psychiatrist at Lifestream Behavioral Center in Leesburg, Florida, where he provided comprehensive psychiatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings. His work included FACT services, adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry, as well as detoxification and hospital-based care.
Since 2006, he has been practicing with Huntingdon Healthcare, where he delivers psychiatric services across long-term care and assisted living facilities, and collaborates closely with Nurse Practitioners to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. He has been Board Certified in Psychiatry since 2005, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional standards.
